OmniShopper Recap: The New Era of Retail is Here

We recently spent a week in Minneapolis exhibiting at OmniShopper, a tradeshow that brings together a balance of brands and retailers to reveal the latest insights and strategies to compete in the new age of retail. We had a great time meeting people and showing off our newest product, Reward Link, while learning about innovations in the industry.

From roundtable discussions to keynote speakers, the subject across the board was clear – consumer buying behavior is changing, and it’s changing fast.

E-commerce has transformed how we shop. Shopping online is easier and more convenient than ever. Consumers are able to search and find the exact item they’re looking for (i.e. item, size, color). They are then able to read reviews on the product and feel confident about what is in their virtual shopping cart. Once they click “buy”, they receive an immediate email confirmation along with email updates on when their item ships.

Building a seamless customer experience is the #1 priority. E-commerce has unlocked benefits from both ends. While the customer is able to enjoy quick and convenient perks by shopping online, the retailers gain access to important feedback and data. This information allows retailers to personalize, customize, and tailor the customer experience even further. The new and improved customer experience results in an increase in sales, customer loyalty, referrals, etc.

With the power of choice, options, and accessibility, there is no question why 96% of Americans choose to shop online.

We had a blast at OmniShopper 2017 and we’re already looking forward to attending next year.
